Traveling With Your Pets

RV’ing is your home on wheels. Well, it only seems right that the “entire” family is together doesn’t it? Traveling with our pets is a wonderful experience. However, it is important that you are prepared for any situation that may arise. Here are a couple of the most common “on the road” incidents and the first-aid treatments of them:

* Bee sting/Bug bite-immediately give your pet Benadryl..or other allergy relief tablet. This usually takes care of any swelling associated with bite or sting..give 1-2 tabs every 4 hrs until swelling is gone…we take this with us everywhere we go..it works great for dogs with any allergy! Our Golden Retriever Grace is allergic to everything!!

* Food Poisoning/Diarrhea- depending on the source of poisoning, Pepto-Bismol is a must have…it is awesome and cures the problem quick for cases of heat related or minor stomach upsets. For more severe cases and causes your pet may require emergency medical attention. Remember to always keep your pets vaccinations/rabies up to date and be sure to have a plentiful supply of their regular medications while traveling. It’s also getting warm and they need lots of fresh water to avoid heat stroke!
