Before You Hit The Road

Basic RV Maintenance
Your RV is like any other vehicle. It requires regular checkups and periodic maintenance to operate at its peak. The best way to ensure safe, trouble-free travel is to thoroughly check your RV before each trip.

1. Make sure that all electrical and plumbing systems are ready for use
2. Check fluids, brakes, and tires
3. Adjust all mirrors
4. Check hitch and coupling system

In the Winter
Even in colder climates, many owners enjoy their RVs throughout the year. With water heaters and central heating standard equipment, RVs are popular for snowmobiling, skating and ice fishing trips. They also make great ski chalets.

No one understands RVs better than RV dealers. Dealers know what to look for, and their periodic checkups will save you money in the long run.

However, RVs that are not going to be used during cold weather need to be winterized (See Winterizing). For instance, water should be drained from the system to prevent frozen and ruptured lines. Batteries need special attention as well. Your dealer will know everything that is required.
